JOHANNESBURG — South Africa is making ready its hospitals for extra admissions, as the Omicron variant pushes the country into a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections, President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Monday.
Ramaphosa pointed out in a weekly newsletter that Omicron gave the impression to be dominating new infections in most provinces and entreated greater individuals to get vaccinated in opposition t COVID-19.
"we are able to soon be convening a gathering of the country wide Coronavirus Command Council to evaluate the state of the pandemic. this can enable us to take something additional measures are necessary to hold americans secure and healthy," he added.
