Charania's Tweet on September 1 referred to: "Sources: Unvaccinated NBA avid gamers in markets with local requirements — similar to NYC (Knicks, Nets) and SF (Warriors) — will not be allowed to enter home arenas or amenities for games or group activities carried out there unless there's authorized clinical or non secular exemption."
Charania's different Tweet from September 1 said: "This follows local governmental policies, meaning unvaccinated players on the Nets, Knicks and Warriors aren't allowed to play in home video games. visiting avid gamers are exempt from the vaccination necessities in NYC and SF."
Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors applied for an exemption for spiritual motives.
The NBA announced on Friday, September 23, that his request was denied.

The NBA said within the observation on Friday: "The NBA has reviewed and denied Andrew Wiggins' request for non secular exemption from the San Francisco branch of Public fitness's order requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all contributors age 12 and older at tremendous indoor hobbies. Wiggins aren't in a position to play in Warriors domestic games until he fulfills the metropolis's vaccination requirements."
